Overview
At the heart of Palawan, El Nido Pangulasian is a fantastic luxury hotel with impressive villas and an enviable location. The beach is one of the most beautiful we have seen anywhere, and when paired with great service, a wonderful food offering and a gret house reef, this is as good as it gets for a diving holiday in the Philippines.
In Depth
Made up of 42 villas either beachfront or tucked away in the jungle, the rooms at Pangulasian are elegant and luxurious with ample space and privacy. Their style is Thai-inspired, using clean lines and dark woods to accentuate luxurious linens in a neutral colour palette. Villas with their own private pool and beach access are particularly idyllic. Dining takes place at Amianan, the main restaurant at the resort which affords beautiful views.
The Diving
For those learning to dive, there is a full array of PADI courses available, whilst certified divers can enjoy up to 3 dives per day on local reefs including night diving. The house reef is close by, and happens to be one of the best dive sites in the area. Divers are afforded true luxury when it comes to diving, with their own private boat and guide per group. A true valet service is offered, with all kit being looked after by the helpful and friendly staff. There are over 30 dive sites accessible from the hotel and surface intervals will be spent on deserted white-sand beaches in the Philippine sun.
Beyond the Reef
There is plenty to get up to when guests are not diving. An island-hopping excursion will take guests to deserted white sand islands in turquoise waters. Birdwatching is great in this region with the chance to spot endemic species such as the Palawan hornbill. There are a number of hiking trails for active guests or of course one can explore the turquoise waters on a hobie cat, windsurfer or kayak. The house reef is great with healthy corals and visiting reef sharks as well as turtles and usual reef-dwellers. For those more interested in relaxation, indulge in one of the spa’s varied treatments.
