"Book the sunrise side villas for a quieter spot on the island, with the added bonus that you still get sun on your deck until the afternoon."  - India, Reefscape Travel Director

Overview

As the only luxury resort with access to the great Astrolabe Reef, the fourth largest barrier reef in the world, Kokomo is a must-visit spot for divers looking to experience the wide variety of world class diving across Fiji. Whilst the private island is undoubtedly one of the most exclusive in the world, the ultra-luxe resort has also been built with sustainability in mind. This is evident in the farm to table culture, waste reduction protocols and thoughtful sustainable design, and reinforced with marine conservation and mangrove restoration projects.

In Depth

Kokomo has 21 spacious and private one, two and three-bedroom villas, and five larger residences, each with their own private pool, tropical walled garden and direct beach access. The villas are vast and open plan, with a generous living area, kitchenette and an impressive bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower and a deep bath tub. The design is a blend of contemporary style with Fijian notes and the overall effect is fresh and bright.

The resort's seafront restaurant Walker d’Plank has an amazing daily changing menu designed by their creative head chef as well as an impressive selection of pan-Asian fare. With a 5.5 acre organic farm on the island, and abundant fish and seafood in the surrounding waters, guests will largely be eating produce that is locally-sourced. The Beach Shack showcases the best of this local produce in the evenings, with the resort’s international chefs presenting sharing plates with impressive flair. For cocktail enthusiasts there is an amazing sunken cocktail bar overlooking the ocean, while oenophiles will be thrilled with the impressive wine selection in the cellar.

Night diving from the shore is always rewarding and private guides can be organised to tailor guests’ experience. From the resort divers will have access to over 30 sites on the Great Astrolabe Reef and Solo Reef.

Beyond the Reef

There is so much to do at Kokomo that guests could easily stay weeks without getting bored. Sport fishing is scintillating, with big game species such as marlin, tuna and wahoo being prized catches. The watersports opportunities are endless, with surfing, paddle boarding, hobie cat sailing, kayaking, inflatables and motorised options such as waterskiing and wakeboarding. For a special day out, travel to a hidden oasis, hiking to a beautiful waterfall where guests can take a refreshing dip. Immerse yourself in Fijian cultural traditions with an afternoon of weaving, carving and jewellery making. For those looking to keep active there is a full fitness centre as well as a tennis court and daily yoga.
