Overview

Located in the South Ari Atoll and a short seaplane ride from Male, Lux* South Ari Atoll is a truly unique, quirky island with a real sense of fun. The resort is luxurious with endless facilities so can be enjoyed by a solo traveller, a couple or a family. Euro-Divers Dive Centre are an excellent dive operation, taking divers to a range of world-class dive sites in one of the most famous atolls in the Maldives.  

In Depth

White-washed walls meet bursts of colour at the vibrant Lux* South Ari: stylish and wonderfully luxurious. There are eight different room categories spread across the beaches and overwater jetties. These range from Beach Pavilions ideal for families to the Romantic Pool Water Villa for those that want to indulge - think pool, hanging bird’s nest swing and beach-chic interiors.  

There is an extensive choice of eight restaurants spread across the 1.8km length of the island, meaning that couples and families really can co-exist without bothering one and another. International, Japanese, Southeast Asian and Italian are amongst the flavours that can be enjoyed. There are also five bars across the island, so plenty of options for sundowners with both romantic and more upbeat atmospheres.  

The Diving

Euro-Divers run dive centres all over the world, so they are well versed in running professional and enjoyable dive experiences with excellent service levels. This is no exception at Lux* South Ari. The team are multilingual and run a range of PADI courses and dive trips across the atoll. Most of the dive sites are less than an hour from the resort, accessed by traditional dhonis, with the option for single, two tank and full day excursions. Diving highlights include Madi Varu manta cleaning station, soft corals at Kuda Rah Thila, Kudhimaa wreck and Maamagili, famous for whale sharks that visit all year round. It is worth noting that this spot is now a real magnet for boats, and so expect for this to feel somewhat over-crowded.  

Beyond the Reef

Lux* South Ari Atoll offers a myriad of watersports, both motorised and non-motorised, along with a Spa equipped with hammam and sauna. The kids club, PLAY, has a whole range of activities plus babysitting for the little ones and STUDIO 17 that is specifically for teens making it a real favourite with families.
