"Milaidhoo is located in the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO biosphere reserve, home to world-famous Hanifaru Bay where manta rays gather in huge numbers between June and October to feed on the plankton-rich waters."                                                    - Louisa, Reefscape Travel Director

Overview

Milaidhoo is a tiny island located in the northern Baa Atoll and is designed specifically for couples and honeymooners. The huge, private villas are some of the most beautiful we have come across throughout the Maldives with stunning interior design and a feeling of seclusion. Diving in the Baa Atoll is particularly good in our summer months, with the arrival of the manta rays and the Ocean Stories team lead exclusive dive excursions to explore the best of what the atoll has to offer.

In Depth

Whilst small in size, Milaidhoo is all about privacy and romance with only 50 suites both overwater and on the beach. The villas are well located so guests can feel totally isolated if they choose. They are inspired by Maldivian heritage and beautifully appointed, spacious with seemingly endless spots to relax both inside and out, and pools that sparkle by night.

There are plenty of options when it comes to diving including the signature Maldivian restaurant Ba’theli, which is overwater and constructed in the shape of a traditional Maldivian Dhoni, The Shoreline Grill with a highlight being the seafood feasts at night, Ocean and the Compass Pool Bar which is ideal for lunchtime snacks between dives.

The Diving

Ocean Stories, the PADI 5* Dive centre, offer dive trips for beginner to experienced divers. The nature of the island means that groups tend to be very small if not completely private, and the team including resident Marine Biologist will ensure all divers get the most out of their hours underwater from Milaidhoo. Single tank, two-tank, night and fluo dives are all offered by Ocean Stories. Fancy a hot bath when you get back from your night dive? No problem, your host will arrange it so its piping hot when you get in...and for a romantic twist add rose petals and champagne!

Beyond the Reef

When not underwater, enjoy a range of watersports, private cruises, romantic sandbank dinners, fishing...nothing is too much trouble for the Milaidhoo team, and every last detail has been thought of.
