Papua Paradise Eco Resort
"This is the most luxurious option in the Dampier Strait, located just north of Batanta Island and with the best spa in Raja Ampat" - Louisa, Reefscape Travel Director
Overview
It is difficult to imagine a more perfect location than Papua Paradise Eco Resort, in the heart of Raja Ampat, suspended over crystal clear waters with direct access to a world-class house reef. This is mother nature at its best, whether you are an avid diver, snorkeller, birdwatcher or nature enthusiast.
In Depth
The water bungalows are inspired by local architecture and design and have all the essential facilities. They are built on stilts overlooking the long stretch of house reef, offering incredible snorkelling experiences and their large verandas are perfect for viewing the busy life of the reef below. The bungalows are accessed by jungle paths that are home to an array of tropical birds so naturalists will be amazed even before getting to breakfast each day.
All meals are served at the Sunset Restaurant, which again overlooks the house reef which is constantly bubbling and rippling with life A variety of European and Indonesian cuisine is on offer, buffet-style, and the kitchen ensures the highest quality of food and service. Locally grown produce is bought from villages in the surrounding islands as well as produce from their own vegetable garden.
The Diving
Gangga Divers at Papua Paradise is a PADI 5* dive centre and operates according to the best safety standards, whilst having an emphasis on service and experience. To enable this, the guest to guide ratio will always be four to one and all the guides are professionally trained to the highest calibre. The dive boats are purpose built for diving and equipped with all the necessary safety equipment, as well as fresh towels, hot drinks, snacks and fruit. There is the option for up to four dives a day to explore the vibrant reefs of Raja Ampat, and snorkellers are welcomed and well catered for too.
Beyond the Reef
Papua Paradise offers a number of exciting excursions to explore further afield in Raja Ampat which we certainly recommend doing. For twitchers, head out to find the Red Bird of Paradise or Wilson’s Bird of Paradise. Other trips include the Batanta Island Waterfalls, Arefi village tour, mangrove and sunset cruises, or head out on a kayak from the resort to explore inlets and lagoons.
