Overview
Located in the far south of the Maldives, Six Senses Laamu is a firm favourite at Reefscape Travel being the perfect combination of barefoot luxury and exceptional diving. The Laamu atoll is home to over 30 dive sites that are virtually untouched and ready to be explored with the excellent Deep Blue Divers team.
In Depth
Six Senses Laamu is the ultimate in barefoot luxury, with natural and sustainable materials being used throughout the resort, whilst still feeling spoiling and luxurious. The Robinson Crusoe style continues in the villas, with the option for overwater or beach, all beautifully appointed with burst of colour as is synonymous with the Six Senses brand. Across the categories, there are unique qualities including Private pools, Sunset views, more privacy or the best access to the house reef: just get in touch to get the inside track.
Life at the resort is focused around the central overwater area comprising of the dive centre Deep Blue Divers, restaurants, boutique and more. Long-stays are never repetitive at Six Senses Laamu, with a wealth of dining options including Chill Bar (Vietnamese and the perfect spot for dolphin-watching), Longitude (International and live-cooking evenings), Leaf (tree-house Organic Garden dining), Zen (Japanese) and a number of private dining options which we love for honeymooners.
The Diving
The dive team at Deep Blue Divers are second to none and are ready to welcome all divers from those taking their first steps to becoming qualified, right up to professional level. Diving starts on the house reef and along with the beautiful lagoon full of turtles and rays, is the perfect spot to get qualified.
For those with more experience, head out on the daily two-tank dives to the channels with chance of seeing all manner of marine life. With the Manta Trust being located at the resort, there is always a good chance of seeing mantas, particularly at Hithadhoo Corner just 10 minutes from the resort and a manta cleaning station. Deep Blue Divers also offer fluoro night diving, Diver Propulsion Vehicles and Blackwater dives for those that want even more.
