Overview

The Nautilus Explorer was built in 2000 and carefully custom-designed for divers. Comfort is a priority onboard the vessel, with the heavy steel construction allowing for safe and comfortable crossings, as well as extensive sound proofing throughout the ship. Safety, excellence in diving and guest experience are the cornerstones of the Nautilus, and this is evident throughout the Explorer operation.

In Depth

At 40m in length, there is plenty of space onboard the Nautilus Explorer for guests to relax, read a book, edit images or share diving stories whether that is in the dining room, main salon, the hot tub or on the sundeck. There are 13 cabins to suit all preferences, with the majority of the staterooms being on the lower deck equipped with air-conditioning and en-suites. Three Superior Suites are located on wheelhouse deck measuring 145 square feet with large windows and pièce de résistance, the Premium Suite originally the owners cabin, is larger than most hotel suites and twice the size of the rest of the suites. It has a bedroom as well as a separate lounge, with a floor to ceiling window offering incredible ocean views.

Dining onboard is a mix of bffet and table service including North American and Europe dishes, often with a touch of Mexico. The cuisine is fresh and imaginative, including bread and pasteries baked onboard and homemade soup. Up to four meals a day are served, with plenty of snacks to keep divers going.

The Diving

The Nautilus Explorer was lengthened in 2018, now offering an improved and expanded dive deck alongside a large water-level platform. The dive deck offers plenty of space with dive benches as well as a central camera table for keen underwater photographers. Daily diving generally takes places from skiffs, taking divers to and from the dive sites seamlessly and making sure there is no hanging around at the surface.

Depending on the location, there are up to four dives a day allowing for guests to get in as much diving as possible. Nitrox is therefore offered for those certified and encouraged onboard, and the boat is rebreather friendly making her a winner for tech divers. Holding true the cornerstones of the company, the dive crew lead professional, safe and memorable underwater adventures at some of the most exciting dive sites on the planet. Courses are offer onboard as well as a complimentary underwater photography workshop for those interested, or indeed a Backscatter course going from zero to hero with a Photo Pro for those wanting to take the next step.
