Scubaspa ZEN, the sister vessel to the majestic and award-winning luxury Maldives vessels, Yin and Yang, embraces the Scubaspa laid-back luxury style. With exceptional service, ZEN offers an extra personal touch with just nine guest cabins onboard from which to explore some of the very best diving in Indonesia including Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea, Triton Bay and Cenderawasih Bay.

Scubaspa ZEN is the perfect fusion of scuba diving and luxury. Guests can enjoy the exceptional scuba diving of Indonesia, alongside indulging in onboard spa facilities, creative gourmet cuisine, yoga activities, and enjoy non-motorized water sports amidst stunning itineraries—all complemented by outstanding service. There are nine en-suite cabins split across four categories: sea star suites on the lower deck which can be configured as a double or twin and are ideal for those travelling on more of a budget, dolphin and cowrie suites located in the mid-section of the main deck with large en suite bathrooms and more natural light, and the Owner’s manta suite with the utmost privacy and space, including a huge overwater lounge with panoramic views.  

Onboard Scubaspa ZEN Indonesia, a dedicated crew of 26 ensures a high staff-to-guest ratio, providing unparalleled personal service. With two spa therapists, a yoga master, three highly skilled chefs and two bartenders every journey is crafted to perfection. The three expansive decks allow guests plenty of space to enjoy sunset cocktails, relish outdoor dining under the stars and even enjoy an open-air cinema experience. Dom, the cruise director creates an amazing atmosphere on board and is incredibly knowledgable on Indonesian diving. He has a special ability to perfectly anticipate guests’ needs and thinks of every little detail to make sure of an unforgettable trip.  

The chefs onboard create dishes using the flavours of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine and the quality is of a very high standard. Guests will enjoy daily breakfast and lunch buffet meals complete with live cooking stations as well as more refined à la carte dinners, all prepared and served in the spacious al fresco restaurant on the main deck. The bar is the social hub of the boat, overlooking the bow and the perfect spot for guests to congregate to discuss the days diving and enjoy a cocktail mixed up by Buddha or Yoga who are full of life and charm. 

The Diving

Scubaspa Zen is the only liveaboard in Indonesia that has adopted the Maldivian ‘dhoni style’ diving. The large Scubaspa Zen dhoni acts as the vessel’s dive deck, cruising alongside it and not only allows more space for relaxation on Zen, but a more comfortable journey to and from dive sites. Guests will enjoy up to four dives per day with a focus on small groups and tailored experiences. With a minimum 50 logged dives, guests can expect to dive with experienced divers. Courses can be arranged on board for those looking to continue on their diving education and Nitrox is offered for those certified. There is also a camera and charging station on board. Safety is paramount whilst diving with Scubaspa and each diver is provided a Nautilus Lifeline Marine Rescue GPS transmitter which can be activated should divers become separated from their group. Thorough briefings are conducted before each dive and small groups are designated based on experience levels and interests.  

Snorkellers will be treated with the same attention and care as divers, and will be assigned a specific snorkel guide for their stay on board. Indonesia’s shallow reeftops lend themselves incredibly well to snorkelling.  

Beyond the Reef

Whilst Scubaspa ZEN is a dive-focused vessel for keen divers, one of its standout features is that it caters specifically for the non-diver too. Spa and snorkel packages are available as well as land excursions including wildlife encounters such as visiting Komodo dragons and birds of paradise, to beach setups and BBQs, hikes to spectacular viewpoints and village visits.
